How selling your RV to us works
Four steps to sell your RV for cash in Houston: share details, get an offer, quick look at your location, get paid while we handle the title and pickup.

If you’re wondering how to sell your RV for cash in Houston, start with the details you already know and a few clear photos. At Cash For RV, we review your information, make a cash offer, arrange a quick in-person look, then handle payment, title paperwork and removal if you accept.
We only buy RVs from owners. There are no fees, commissions or obligations, and you don’t have to buy anything from us. Our process covers the RV types and conditions we consider, including worn, damaged and non-running units. Some RVs may not be a fit, and we’ll tell you honestly.
The short version
- Share your RV’s details and photos through the online form, a phone call or text.
- We often provide a cash offer the same day we review your information.
- If the in-person look matches your description, the offer stands.
- At signing, we arrange payment, handle title paperwork and any lender payoff, then remove the RV at no cost.
Start selling your RV for cash in Houston with details and photos
Use our online form, call or text to request a cash offer for your RV. Tell us the year, make, model, RV type and location. For a motorhome, include the mileage and whether it starts and drives; for a trailer, tell us whether it can roll and be towed.
Clear photos help us understand the condition before scheduling a visit. Include the exterior, interior and any problem areas. You don’t need a polished presentation, just an accurate picture of what you have.
- Photograph visible damage, stains, soft flooring and signs of leaks.
- Mention flood exposure, mechanical issues and systems that don’t work.
- Tell us whether you have the title and whether there is an outstanding loan.
- Include access restrictions, such as storage gates or tight parking.
Receive a cash offer based on your RV’s condition
We review the RV’s age, type, condition, reported problems and photos when deciding what we can offer. Running condition, water damage and the work a unit may need all matter. Our guide to what affects an RV cash offer explains those considerations in more detail.
We often provide an offer the same day, but incomplete information or an unusual situation may take longer to review. The offer is based on what you share and is confirmed during the in-person look. You can accept, ask questions or decline without paying a fee.
What we check during the in-person RV look
We come to wherever the RV sits in Greater Houston, whether that’s your home, a storage lot, an RV park or a repair shop. The RV buyer inspection is a quick in-person look to confirm the description, not a requirement for you to deliver it somewhere.
We check visible condition, signs of leaks or water damage, the interior, tires and accessible components. For motorhomes, we also look at the reported starting and driving condition where practical. Be upfront about anything you know is wrong, including past flooding.
If the condition matches your description, the offer stands. If we find something significant that wasn’t disclosed, we explain what we found and why the number changes. You can walk away.
Complete the Texas title paperwork and keep your records
At signing, we handle the title paperwork with you. The seller signs the title with the sale date and, for motorized vehicles, the odometer reading. You also sign Form 130-U, the Application for Texas Title and/or Registration, showing the sales price.
Remove your license plates, which stay with you. You should also file a Vehicle Transfer Notification, Form VTR-346, with TxDMV within 30 days. It’s free online and protects you from tickets, tolls and liability after the sale.
The buyer must title the vehicle in their name within 30 days. Review our Texas RV title transfer guide, and confirm requirements for your unit with TxDMV or your county tax assessor-collector’s office.
Receive payment and settle any remaining RV loan
At signing, we pay by cashier’s check, bank transfer or cash. Discuss the payment method with us before the appointment so you know what to expect. There are no commissions or pickup fees deducted from the agreed offer.
If you still owe money, we can pay the lender directly and you receive any equity. If the payoff exceeds our offer, you must cover the difference at closing. We do not make loans.
Our page on selling an RV with an outstanding loan explains the process. Confirm your payoff with the lender. Texas lienholders must release a lien within 10 days of receiving payoff, and some titles are held electronically through the ELT program.
Arrange RV pickup wherever it sits in Greater Houston
After signing and payment, we tow or drive the RV away at no cost to you. We tow trailers and drive or tow motorhomes as appropriate, including arranging removal for non-running units. Tell us early about flat tires, blocked access or anything else that could affect loading or towing.
Our RV pickup service is limited to Greater Houston: Harris, Fort Bend, Montgomery, Brazoria, Galveston, Waller and Chambers counties. Check where we buy RVs around Houston when sharing the pickup location. If the unit is at a storage lot, RV park or repair shop, coordinate access with that location.
How quickly can the sale move forward?
The offer stage can often happen the same day we review your details. Completing the sale depends on scheduling the in-person look, confirming ownership, arranging payment and preparing for pickup. An offer and a completed sale are different milestones, so we won’t promise a closing time before reviewing your situation.
Clear photos, accurate condition details and available paperwork help avoid extra back-and-forth. A missing title, lender coordination or difficult removal access can add steps. Houston’s heavy rain events can also affect outdoor access and towing arrangements. Tell us about any deadline, and we’ll discuss what is practical.
Your checklist before signing and pickup
You don’t need to hide wear or fix every problem before contacting us. Focus on accurate disclosure, ownership documents and access. Our guide to preparing your RV for sale and pickup covers these practical steps.
- Gather the title, available ownership documents and current lender information.
- Share known damage and any changes in condition before the appointment.
- Remove personal belongings and check cabinets, compartments and storage bays.
- Locate keys and arrange gate access or permission to enter the property.
- Remove your license plates and keep copies of the signed sale documents.
- File your Vehicle Transfer Notification with TxDMV within 30 days.
Frequently asked questions
Can I start the process if I’ve lost my Texas RV title?
Yes, tell us the title is missing when you first contact us so we can discuss the paperwork before scheduling a closing. A certified copy of a lost Texas title is requested from TxDMV using Form VTR-34. If there is a lender involved, confirm whether the title is held electronically. Check the applicable requirements with TxDMV.
Does every travel trailer need a Texas title?
No. Texas requires trailers, including travel trailers, with a gross weight over 4,000 pounds to be titled. Trailers weighing 4,000 pounds or less only need registration, with a title optional. Share the documents you have rather than assuming something is missing. Confirm the requirements for your particular trailer with TxDMV or your county tax office.
Can you consider an RV I inherited?
We can review the situation, but ownership paperwork needs attention before a sale can be completed. If an owner died without a will and no probate is opened, heirs may be able to use Form VTR-262, subject to TxDMV conditions. With a will, probate is generally required. Confirm your authority to sell with TxDMV or an attorney.
Do I pay Texas motor vehicle sales tax when I sell to you?
The buyer pays Texas motor vehicle sales tax, not the seller. The rate is 6.25%, paid when titling. That tax is separate from any amount you might need to contribute if your loan payoff exceeds our offer. For questions about your specific paperwork or tax situation, confirm with the county tax assessor-collector’s office or a qualified tax professional.
